After about a year of neglect (no lights/just Koralias to keep it from going stagnant I finally re-did some things and got her running again. First I rebuilt my sump without a fuge. I think think I was getting minimal benifits from it and it made my return are so small I was having to add water every day. Now it looks like this...

I cleaned out the skimmer, soaked all the pumps, powerheads and heater in vinegar and cleaned them. Upon reassembly my to Koralias fell appart :(. I did however lear about a chines made pump that functions like a Vortech at about a 3rd the price made by Jebao. I picked a WP25 for ~100 and it is fantastic. It moves a ton of water, is silent, and has controls much like the Vortech.

The display tank was down about 20 gallons of water, so I got that topped off and the salinity where I like it, let it run a couple days, and check all the water perimeters and everything looked great.

Over the week I started restocking. A good cleanup crew, six line wrasse, Tail Spot Blenny, and Midas Blenny. So far so good.

Right now the current inhabitants are a Midas Blenny, One Spot Blenny, and a Six line wrasse. I am trying to think of what to add next. My LFS is getting in a pair of jumbo Black/White clowns I am considering. Any recommendations?

I am experiencing a slight diatom bloom right now...just dark spots in the sand. I wonder if I should let it pass or add something to the CUC to stir the sand.

Coral Banded Shrimp...NEVER AGAIN

What a mean little *******. That ****** terrorized every living thing in my tank since the day I got him. Took me 4 days to catch him. He has been banished to the sump until he grows his claws he lost in our battle, then back to the LFS he goes.

What a dick!

I got a GoPro for my Birthday yesterday, so of course I had to put it in my aquarium. You can see my Sea Hare doing work in the foreground and feeding time going on in the background...

I was using a 15g standard tank with acrylic baffles siliconed in. The problem was that I did not have room in the overflow section for a proper filter sock holder and my skimmer. So, I had a local plastics guy make me a sump to my specifications. It is 24x14.5x12. I also went with 4 baffles for a bubble trap...I hate microbubbles and have battled them in the past. I am real happy with how it turned out. Definitely not microbubbles in the DT now.
