After upgrading from a 36 to a 75 not long ago I have decided to down grade to a 57. I've always wanted a rimless tank so this is what I ended up with. Like my other build I have decided to make my own stand, I worked on it throughout the week and this is what I have so far.

It's not shown in the pictures but I do have a center beam on the bottom of the frame to support the sump.

Thoughts, comments and suggestions are welcome.

Removed the RBTA's and redid the scape on the left.

In case the build seemed too quick I copied my posts from a different forum. Hope you guys don't mind.

Thanks

Mods can you please move this to the members tanks section? I just realized this is not the proper section.

Quick update..

I got rid of my yellow tang and flame angel, I replaced them with a carpenters wrasse. I'm debating on getting another wrasse but we will see what happens. I also made a DIY screen top so no fish can jump out and added a DIY CPU fan to help with cooling. For some reason my tank temp can get up to 81F with the fan it keeps it around 79F and the heater is set for 78 and on a ranco controller. I finally put doors on, nothing special just solid black with knobs to match the color of the trim.

Well it's been a while since I've updated this thread. No major changes have happened just a few frags here and there.

I picked up a bleached anemone from a LFS maybe a month or 2 ago, here is a picture of when it was still in the store.

Here is what that bleached out anemone look like now....

The color is a green/blue! Can't wait to see how it looks in a few months time!

I also went to Orlando this weekend for a friends graduation but couldn't leave without picking up a box of goodies...

Thank you! I live in Florida but went to some store I don't get to frequent because they're 3.5hrs away.

Long story short, two of my jebao wp10's burned out and stopped working. Now my tank was only working off of one wp25 which was not a sufficient amount of flow for this tank. I ran around trying to find something but couldn't find anything used and didn't want to wait for shipping with low flow in my tank. I called one of my LFS and he had the vortech mp10 in stock and said he would match the price online before shipping. So I bit the bullet and got myself another Christmas gift.

I hope this doesn't burnout within a year.

I like your style Chris... you win some and you lose some but in the end you always win! Nice work on the anemone and I think you'll like the MP10. I've started a new build as well although a few months behind you and I've enjoyed the battles along the way. Have a great holiday!

Thank you! Such is life right? I feel like I will always go through the win some lose some process with my tank but from experience I hope I start to win more often lol. I haven't even had the mp10 up for even 24hrs and I already love it! Maybe in a few months I'll get another one, this thing has a lot of flow. Happy holidays to you as well.

Happy new year to all! To start off the new year I acquired a new fish to add to the family. I have a little algae that becomes visible every now and then, since I no longer have a yellow tang I needed something new. I went with a starry blenny since I hear they are pretty good with eating algae and my 57 is big enough for one. Now that it's comfortable in my tank it has been chowing down! I also had to purchase some nori to keep him/her happy.
