Ive had my share of tanks. Starting with a 135 downsizing to a 40g breeder and then to my current 65g. Its time to go big again. I came up on a 120 5'long tank. The water test is complete. The frame of stand is complete. Its built out of 4x6s, 2x6s, and 2x4s. I will be skinning the stand and hopefully starting on the sump tomorrow. I scored on a 36g acrylic tank that I will be turning into a sump. I will be attaching my lights using 3/4 galvi bolted to the stand and coming up the back and over the top of tank. My equipment will be:
120 tank
36g sump
2 tao leds
3 wp25
Sca302 skimmer
Kent reactor
Please follow and add thoughts. This tank will be mostly lps.

That's a beast of a stand! I eat you could park a car on that...

Congrats on the new tank/setup and thanks for sharing the build!

My sump is complete. Picked up acrylic for my overflow weir box. Going to build a raw spill over with 2 overflows inside.

Following along as I am working on a 120 5' tank as well. I am planning on three mp40 in my tank for flow. That said I have a 4' lobster tank with a single wp25 in it and it creates a wave just fine.

I would think two 25 would work, maybe a third or the 40 for additional flow.

Think my sump is too short? Its 15" tall. When power is out I dont want to overflow.
