Hello R2R ! :D
I'm setting up a 34 Gallon Solana that I recently purchased, I plan on it being an exotic, or a jaw dropping tank. I have all the money and the skills to do it,
I just need time !
It will be a mixed reef plus NPS, then I want to gradually move towards an SPS dominant tank, but I'm still a little wish-washy as I love all coral, except yellow polyps.

The livestock of the tank ( subject to change ) will be :
1 Royal Gramma
2 skunk clowns + Anemone
1 firefish
1 mandarin ( I know how to care for one. It will be my last fish as well )
1 baby bluestar leopard wrasse, until I move her to my 150 G.

I will be running a 150 watt metal halide but I plan to sell that and switch to a maxspect 10000k nano razor in the future. Oversized skimmer, rated for 65 gallons. Media reactor. 2 hydor koralias on a wavemaker until I get an MP10.

I'm being a bit brave with my livestock, with the NPS and finnicky fish/ coral. I plan on culturing copepods and phytoplankton, so the tank will be fed like crazy with live and frozen food. I'll be doing a 10 gallon water change every 2 weeks or a 5 gallon water change every week. Also plan on going radical and putting in some of that purple kelp, and very small amounts of other ornamental algae to give the tank a very new look. I'm extremely tempted to try a Sea Apple because of their beauty and their challenge, but I think that would be overkill.

Anyways, stay tuned and let me know what you guys think, I'm always open to advice and suggestions. I'll be updating this thread with pictures, videos, and links to my YouTube channel. Thanks !!

Here's the stand, I'm planning on installing a 10 gallon sump, with the skimmer, media reactor, and more liverock.

So I decided to place it in near the corner of my room, but with enough clearance to see all sides. Right now I'm mixing the salt, it'll be ready by tomorrow. I'll add my cycled rock, some clean up crew, and my clownfish tomorrow. As soon as that's done I'm going to adjust my parameters to what corals need. I'm having someone come over tomorrow to trade me a ponape birdsnest, a green apple monti, some blue acropora, Darth Maul zoas, armor of God zoas, vivid rainbow zoas, gobstopper zoas, and a green pocilopora frag, for a lot of dry reef rock I got for my future 150 Gallon.

I got the coral today, it's all extremely healthy and downright beautiful. The guy I got it from was extremely nice, and included an extra purple montipora frag, as well as some extra vivid rainbows. He said I'm welcome to come get more for free because of how much of and how nice my rock was. Awesome !

They'll be in my 8 Gallon until my Solana gets a bit more stable.

Thank you ! It's the LEDs, I have them on acclimation mode. I love those zoas ! They're the pricey kind, exactly what ill need for an exotic tank.

Yeah ! I've got some established rock with plenty of coraline on it, hopefully that will speed up the process.

HUGE upgrades. New light, Kessil A350w, Tunze ATO nano, Jebao WP-25 with wavemaker, also ordered an upgraded return pump. :D I seriously love this LED, it's one of the best out there in my opinion. All of that hard work finally paid off !

I'm going to do an in depth review on the kessil as soon as I can on another post. I've had it for a few days now and its just spectacular.

Also, I picked up a baby Royal Gramma. This fish is healthy, and active. Not shy or skittish at all. Pics

After days of work, frustration, and pain, I finally did it.

I finally Aquascaped my tank to where I'm happy with it.

Lol I'm kind of a perfectionist when it comes to my tanks, so I had to get this just right. It's not even done yet though, I'm planning on getting some branching Tonga rock and adding a little blast of cool to my work. Let me know what you guys think.

I love the look of it. It has a ton of holes for fish to swim through too, which my royal gramma will really appreciate. Only thing that irritates me is its not that high, which I'm going to fix very soon.

Also, Sorry for the blurry pics, the tank has a ton of micro bubbles because my skimmer is breaking in.

Looking great! I had the same tank set up for 3 years until a few weeks ago. If you run into problems with it shoot me a pm and I can probably help out. I've tried 4 hang on skimmers on it as well as many different filtering techniques haha.
