A little background... I've been in the hobby for about 5 years now. I've had a 40g bow front then went to a 45g tank about 2 years in.

My fiancée and I just bought a house last year and its got a nice little corner for a tank. Came across a 150 DD tank for a great deal.

The basement is fairly large and I've decided to section off a fish/utility/work room.

Started most of the work prepping the basement. Figured I'd need this up and running first. Added some support for the floor above which will have the display tank

Drywall going up, thinking I underestimated all the work that needs to be done. But took my time and learned lots

Got the 'fish bench' framed up. I plan on moving the old 45gallon down to that window and my sump for the 150 is a 55 gallon that I sectioned off for a skimmer and fuge

Walls painted and picked up a couple 55 gallon HDPE barrels for a water change system. This is the current status for the basement @ 9/22

Are sch80 bulkheads really needed or is it overkill? What's the difference?

Stand is done. I'll start the canopy after the tank is in place and cycling

Got most of the plumbing done for the water change system. Making water now! Going to be moving my 45 gallon to the basement, it'll be against the window next to the barrel.

Thanks. I have a dc12000 for the return pump and I plan on getting a reef dynamics skimmer; ins180 I think, just wish they went on sale at some point..

Looks good so far. I agree that having the sump/equipment room away from the main tank is a nice luxury.

Yea I'm enjoying it so far. Plus I can get a much larger sump/equipment that wouldn't of fit under my 36x36 stand..
