Hi Everyone,

I joined a few months ago but never had a chance to post. This is my third reef build, first I had a 30g, then a 55g, and now this little guy.

It is a 6g fluval edge with the stock HOB, 120gph powerhead in the rocks, 25w heater, 7 lbs of liverock, 10 lbs of aragonite sand, a 1st gen reef controller mainly handling temp and water level,

the stock list is:

black ice clown
6 astrea snails
3 blue legged hermits,
GSP
Kenya tree
Frogspawn
Scoly
2 heads of a trumpet
2 heads of candy cane
Octopus coral
Green acan
ORA Green Birdsnest
Purple monti cap
Hollywood stunner
Unknown Scroll
meteor shower
red cyphastrea
2 duncan heads
2 different unknown acro frags
Unknown Milli
Sunset Monti
Orange Setosa
2 small feather dusters

I run chemipure elite
test and do weekly water changes

and my specs are

Ph - 8.2
Calc 425ppm
alk 11 dkh <-- lil higher than I like, Normally I prefer 9-9.5, I was trying a new dosing regimen.
Mag 1400ppm
temp 78-78.5
Nitrate 5ppm (max)
Amm 0ppm

I make DIY ALK, Mag, Calcium to dose with.

I have run my Fluval Edge as a reef before and tore it down to add the stock to my bigger 58 gallon reef. About 6 months ago I set it up again for a friend who wanted to buy it already set up and running. He ended up not taking it, so I have it sitting still. My biggest problem with them is the dang evaporation! What a pain in the butt! Lol. I love the look of these tanks. I just need a little motivation to stock it up with fish and corals. I have a breeding pair of Coral banded shrimps I have been holding just for this tank. Maybe I'll get some stuff in it. Good lick on your reef! It's looking good!

Thanks, I made a DIY ATO for the tank to handle that. Unfortunately I don't leave it on because it rests on the rim of the tank and snails like to sit on it, setting it into the 'on' state and overflowing the tank, so in the a.m. and afternoon I kick on the ATO and turn it off when I am done (a few seconds). It isn't so bad pushing a few buttons as compared to opening the tank up and scooping some water dumping it in and closing everything back up.

I took a few more pictures and picked up a nice scroll. Couldn't say no to the price.
