As some of you may know, i had a decent 75 gallon aquarium setup for a year. But four months ago i got marine velvet and lost every fish( about 12 really expensive ones) except for two blue/green chromis that i have right now in a 29 gallon temporary setup along with some coral. Today, I am finnaly going to began to setup the 75 again and try to do a lps dominated tank. I already have a new ro system coming in the mail monday, but today i plan on buying the new sand, rock and main pump. I am also going to spray paint the back of the 75 black, and clean out the sump and overflow. I am also going to start working on a canopy. I should have lots more post on this thread today. Thanks for your support :)

so sorry about your losses :( velvet is a vicious disease - usually kills so quickly and usally before you're able to figure out what is going on. Good luck on the restart!

We have a well so our pressure varies. All I know for sure is it has a pretty decent stream or water coming out of the waste water. Would it make a difference? I would be satisfied if the ro water come t out was the same amount as the waste

you should be like 3:1 waste to RO... 2:1 if your lucky. Also depends on how "dirty: your incoming water is.

Higher water pressure results in less waste.

Bigger the better. I don't know if that will hold the back flow of a 75g anyway.

a cheap 20g tank will work. 30g breeder better but more $$
I'd pull bio balls. They can lead to nitrate issues down the road.
Put a skimmer in there instead!

Now I'm just waiting for it to fill up so I can put everything from the other tank in it.

Since I've heard so many bad things about Rio pumps, I figured i would give my personal view on them after having used them for some time and just purchasing a newer one, the 2500+. I've heard these pumps are noisy, not trustworthy, and just plain sucky from forums and i can personally say after using them that just because they aren't over 200 dollars none of this is true at all. My pump is dead silent I can hear anything on my aquarium walking by but the overflow and water movement. Even after opening the door and putting my head next to it I can hardly even hear a vibration. This pump moves water too! It was rated for around 800 gallons but I wasn't expected to get that since my tank height is close to 5 feel tall. I see no reason to spend more money on a different pump because other people say it's better. I cant blame them, there trying to make money, but this is my opinion.
