This tank has been set up for 3 years. I always knew that I wanted changes in the actual reef so last Tuesday, October the 14th was the day. It took my friend Redell and I over 5 hours to completely take down the reef and rebuild it. We did not loose one fish in the ordeal.
We removed some of the live rock and changed it around to allow for better water flow. I also have more places to mount my corals.
We removed at lease 20 BTA's to another tank.. Removed my 18 year old Haddoni and re homed with Redell. Thanks Redell. She was on top of the ladder doing most of the work since this tank, hood and stand reaches to within 12 inches from the ceiling.
Rather than growing out my tank and taking a photo then, I wanted to start from fresh and post as I go along. I just love progression photos.

Equipment

1 165 Gallon custom tank, stand and hood. The hood is fitted with 2 exhaust fans.
1 50g ATO water storage.
1 Custom 50 gallon sump.
1 Jabao DC 6000 main drive pump.
1 Vertex Mocean wave simulation module.
1 Jabao WP 40P wavemaker pump with controller.
2 Santa Monica Hogg 3 algae scrubbers.
1 AI Hydra 52 LED light.
1 ATI Sunpower 24"X 8 lamp T-5 fixture.
1 JBJ Artica 1/2 HP chiller.
1 Spectrapure Litermeter III dosing pump.
1 Spectrapure MC RODI- 200 -UHE. Ultra High Efficiency RO/DI.
2 Phosban 550 reactors. (GFO, GAC)

I have frag racks that are full and all frags are incrusting so its time to start setting them into place.
All of my mature corals were rehomed.
Its difficult to look at the empty rockscape at this time.
I perform 20% water changes weekly and I check all parameters weekly.

Tank Parameters
Salinity 1.026.
Nitrate 20 and going down. (Vodka dosing)
Phosphate 0
Calcium 475 to 500
Alkalinity - I like to keep it just under 10.

One project completed.
Reroute air lines for Hogg 3 scrubbers.
Hide air pumps in new equipment cabinet[.

The most difficult thing about this type of tank design. Hiding equipment.
