New tank! I was drooling over a deep blue 80 gallon at a lfs near me and when I found I could order in a tank of the same footprint just more shallow (what I was looking for anyway!), a lot less expensive, and less water to skim I was sold! The tank is a deep blue rimless 60 gallon, dimensions are 48x24x12. I was watching tv one night when I got a text out of nowhere giving me the okay to start another tank. I just picked up the tank earlier today and I'm very impressed with the quality. I would have bought the 80 at the other store but it had some questionable silicon and spots of silicon everywhere. I will be turning my 30 cube display into a frag tank, and will be using this as my primary display. For lighting I will be going with a aquatic life T5 fixture and for shimmer and night viewing a single kessil A150w ocean blue. My filtration is going to be a bunch of micro algae, and a reef octopus 110 space saver skimmer. For return I'm using a mag 7 return pump, and I'm undecided on my power heads. I'm transferring the stock and rock from the 30 to this tank. I'm going to have minimal rock in the actual display, and go for an island look. The sump will be loaded with rock so I can make up for what I am lacking in the display. I will be going barebottom at first to see how I like it on a tank of this size. Due to my obsession with carpet anemones this is likely to change down the road haha. I just ordered my brs rodi unit and I will start the build when it arrives. I'll keep this thread updated!

Thanks everyone! I hope to get it full of rodi and salt on the 24th, will let it sit and let the temp get up, then I'll transfer the rock and live stock from the 30 gallon. And rhino, your build was the thing that made me decide on a tank of this footprint!

Thanks everyone! I've had my eyes on it for a long time, just needed to find one locally. I'm not sure for the fish yet. I will be transferring my current stock into it, which is a clown pair, 6 line, yellow tang, and a cardinal. Might swap the yellow for a purple and then grab another cardinal. The build officially begins tomorrow! I will be hooking everything up, adding salt and rodi, letting the temp adjust, and then once the temp and everything is set, I'll wait a couple days and transfer the rock, and then finally the stock.

I have the DB 34g. Smaller footprint then yours put same hight. I love these tanks. Great quality. My only recommendation is to ditch the bullheads and returns pipes that came with it. Mine where not good and a few other people I have talked with said the same thing. Look forward to watching your progress

Yeah I love deep blue. This will be my third tank from them, and I 100% agree on the plumbing. Tanks are very inexpensive though so I'm willing to have to replace them.

Any idea why my water is still cloudy? Added salt about 3 days ago...

I think I was just excited and impatient haha. I moved the rock and stock over yesterday. Everything looks great. The only thing not happy is my elegance, it's getting to much flow, I'm trying to find a calm spot. I'm very happy I went with a a150w instead of the a360w. I feel like this would have given me to much shimmer, the a150w mixed with the T5 gives a good natural looking shimmer, but not overwhelming. There is some sand that I need to get out because the rock came from a cube that had a sand bed.

Boring update. Added sand, a blue throat pair, a small sebae, a gig, and one of the sps frags I bought a while back isn't tiny and brown anymore, it's grown about 2" since it's been in this tank, I grew it from a brown no polyp booger to a 3" frag, and now it's about 4.5-5" and is showing purple. Also the skimmer is a beast. Out of all my skimmers this is my favorite. I'll get a picture with the sand tomorrow.
