This is my first go at saltwater builds. I am going to build a 40B tank with a 10 g fuge and a 15 g sump here are some of the pictures.

My 15 g sump, it needs some work. One thing for sure is a baffle or two.

Thanks still gotta build the stand though. I am getting some resistance from my fiance about the structural integrity of building your own stand..

I dremmeled the impeller on this pump and made it fractionating.. makes about the same level of noise as before but makes way better bubbles. Just need an air control valve and I'm g2g on the skimmer.. then all I need is the stand and the plumbing.. imma go with 1 inch poly tube for overflow and 1/2 in poly from return to the 1 inch bulkhead. The return inside the tank will be two 1/2 locline flare nozzles that are 1 1/4 in wide if I remember correctly... reason for poly tube rather than hard plumb is because I will be moving within a year so I need easy breakdown

I have an old fluval 204 canister filter.. any ideas on what I could rig it up for to help the tank.. maybe run it with the sump to add filtration?

Drilled a hole in a broken 10g tank for practice. Gonna use that broken piece as a template so my bit doesn't walk on me while starting the hole.

Someone look at this sketchup I did and see if I am going overkill on it, I need it to weigh less and right now im approximating about 70 lbs in 2x4 alone..... help me! This isn't the full stand it is missing the top 2x4 that go on the outside of the uprights that stick up. I am putting 3/4'' plywood on the top and in the cabinet for the sump. Also, I have two braces for the top and bottom plywood that are not pictured. Yeah I talked my girlfriend into letting me build my stand! :clap2:

Got the wood and cut it to size for the structural part of the aquarium stand. Now all I need to do is put it together and buy the plywood and siding.
