Hi,

I'm Maniacodesrécifs alias JF from Belgium, Brussels, Capital of Europe. I'm a French speaking, so apologize for my poor English!
I'm 54 years old and I began to keep fish at the age of 3... I never stopped and tried all kind of fresh and saltwater aquariums.

This is the story of my tank I stopped two years ago because of my new business. It was my 4th reeftank of my life but the more accomplished.

Such a beautiful tank!

So you don't have a reef tank currently?

I've chosen a 120cm x 70cm x 70cm small rimless tank but with a lot of water in the filtration system.

This glass tank comes from Germany and have protections in each corner against algae's

and a special system to take the water too the sump and able to aspirate dusts at the bottom of the tank (two levels of glass).

No I don't have a tank now but............

I didn't want to have hugly circulation pumps in the tank (in my opinion), then I used big Royal exclusive pumps dimmable 16m3/h for the circulation in the tank and 2 pipes with multiple outputs.

With this method, I've also realized a reef wall for the left side of the tank and like that hitch corals up to this corner (with polyesther 2 components alimentation use) and 2 reef sculptures for plate corals.

The furniture is home made of Teak wood 22mm. This wood is perfect with salt water!

The sump was placed in my garage and it was a great job to transpierce the wall (5 holes)

My filtration is composed by a Royal exclusive skimmer, carbon and kalk reactor NEO3+, sometimes a Rowaphos reactor, an UV sterilizer.

For my pure water I used a reverse osmosis system more a mix-bed filter composed by resins In a Coca-cola tank (home made). TDS 0,02
The system is fully automatic from the tap water in the cellar too the sump in the garage and the osmolation system (with electric vanes).

My tank had 538 liters but with the all filtration I reached 985 liters. I had a refugium (plastic container), a breeding tank (glass) and a "buffer" tank (??) with exactly 10% of the saltwater of the all system like that, with a bypass and a faucet, I can send 10% of the old water directly in the sewer and change it in a few minutes without interrupting the filtration...

Heating system: 2 x Zoo Zajac electronic thermometers with 2 Titanium heatings. These modules allow to use either heatings or fans.
I used first a Teco chiller and later a Giesemann Polaris 2000.

3 cans with baling method

Everything, each hour with 2 x 8 dosing pumps Neo3+ (France)

Lighting: before I used HQI but since I changed for the Matrix 12x54 watts T5, the colors of the corals explode!
For me T5 is the best or may be hybrid Led T5 ATI lighting.
2 Aqua Science Special 15000K
3 Aqua Science DUO 54 (more yellow)
5 Aqua Science bleus 20000K
2 Korallen Zucht: Fidji
