My goal for the tank is to have a mixed reef... SPS, LPS, and Zoas.
Equipment will include:
ASM G2 Skimmer
2 - 250 watt DE Halides - - Radium 20k
2 - T5 Actinics w/ individual reflectors
UV Sterilizer
Carbon Reactor
Phosphate Reactor
Quiet One 4000
Sump - 40 Gallon Breeder

I have started constructing the stand this last weekend. I will post some pics later tonight of my progress on it. I hope to have this tank up and running by this weekend, but with a 2 year old and a 2 month old in the house free time is far and few between. In order for me to reach my goal by this weekend I'll be working late nights in the shop after the kids have been put to bed... yay.

Added the sides tonight. Wasn't much, but it was the only step that I had material for. I'll have to pick up plywood and trim tomorrow.

I'll update more tomorrow.

Thanks Nos. You should start a build thread. I'd love to see your setup too.

Tonight I finished all the bead board, added a raised lip on the top of the stand for the tank to sit in, cut and placed wood on the bottom part of the stand where the sump will sit, and started on the trim.

Here are some pictures of the progress.

Thanks for the interest Nos.

I drilled 2 one inch holes and had a custom overflow box built for it. The overflow box only sticks out about an inch and a half from the back and spans across 30 inches of the tank to give as much surface skimming as possible. I'll post some pics later tonight.

Check out how sleak the overflow box is... Only sticks out an inch and a half.

All I have left on the stand are the doors and I have to grout the tile.

Great tile work, gives me ideas, I wonder if I could fine a blue marble or granite and cut to fit much like you did around the bottom edge of the tank, that would be really cool.

Funny that you mentioned granite. My friend that built his stand before me used granite pieces instead of tile and it's real clean lookin. I'll see if I can't get some pics of his tank to post on here just so that everyone can see what it looks like with granite.

I'll be working on the aquascape next. Then I'll be putting the water in. It's been exhausting and I'm ready for the tank to be up and running... should be there soon.
