Alright MTRC'ers, I know most of you had a long weekend of reefing, BBQ'ing, and watching Miley twerk on the the MTV awards last night, but it's time to get down to business. The weekly topic business.

If you could snap your fingers, what part of our hobby would you make easier?

Have a great week, I know this lady is with her clean water and fancy suit!

Finances and patience. The two things I run out of quicker than anything else.

Weekly maintenance, mainly water changes and daily glass cleaning. When I went back to freshwater for a year or so the difference was dramatic.

I agree with easier water changes.
My second would be away to better hide the true cost of the hobby from the wife. Maybe the critter could adjust the listed price and charge the extra to my electric or water bill.
me: "See honey this tort colony is only $20".
her: "Chris our electric bill this month was $80 higher??"
me: "Hmm honey that is strange I will call them. Maybe I left the computer on over night too many times."

Buy her some shiny stuff; it distracts them....

equipment costs. Seems like lighting over the past few years has definitely dropped a lot, but still a very expensive hobby for sure. Been looking for a good protein skimmer used and even then looking at over $100 bucks. A little hard explaining to the wife that has no clue how important things like ro/di units, protein skimmers and special lights are when she has never had a marine tank and only fresh water tanks. She doesn't get the difference of throwing some water in a bowl, sticking a light over it, dropping fish and calling it a day lol.

Yeah, some kind of anti-gravity device to help haul buckets of water. Oh who am I kidding it's as close as I get to exercise these days ... so it's probably good for me. My dr may advocate more frequent water changes soon.
