Ok I will be starting a 2.5 gallon vase reef using nano fan for water movement nano heater,Thermometer, live rock, live sand and maybe an airdrome for skimming still in thought process tried it once before and gave up :) this gives me incentive plus I have some beautiful frags that are on my rack that need a good home :)

Ok so sticking with the 2.5 glass water vase using only a heater and an air stone :) today I will be getting live sand since I have to buy for my roommates 75 I will just use some of that and building the rock scape so by end of night water in and cycle begin :) during cycle salinity will be checked daily to see where evaporation point is for top off purposes also temp will be monitored daily to see if I even need a heater :)

Four days running today was the first day that required top off of 10oz H2O salinity went from 1.025 to 1.026 after adding 10oz salinity is back to 1.025 temp is holding steady at 79 degrees with no temp deviation during day. I am going to say the nano heater Is required. The air-stone was buried in the sand so I have good water movement and oxygenation in the nano :) today I will add a piece of food to kick start cycle since I have top off day and amount stabilized :)

did you leave the spout functional ? would be a pretty easy way to handle water changes.

Yes it is functional :) that was my reason for Picking a water vase instead of a traditional one :) figured hmm this makes it easy and less disruptive I think
