Looks to be a promising build! If you've never used the Hawaiian black live sand, I'd almost say reconsider it. A lot of people assume that it's a solid black color, when in reality it turns out more off-grey. Also if memory serves, some of the particles in the sand were magnetic, which made cleaning a literal pain in the ***.

Thanks for the tip. I have never used it and was wondering if it turned brown:squigglemouth: but the magnetic part is a deff turn off! Thanks for the tip!

so I got that stuff in the post above and I was super pumped about the new ghost skimmer. that was until I tried to mount it in the tank. they say that you can use a magni float glass cleaner to mount the skimmer in the 38 gallon. well it didn't work that easy. im going to need to make something up to make it hang off the glass. I think innovative marine should think about including some kind of mounting options for the skimmer considering how much it costs. if you guys got any solid ideas about mounting this skimmer post it I would love to hear what your thoughts are.

the next thing that was quite egar to use was the hydro fill. looks light the controller part is going to be god and worth the money but the pump looks kinda cheap and they just put there own sticker on it. I havnt used it yet so we will see how it preforms. the one really good part is that there is no moving parts or floats. I do wish innovative marine would make a mounting kit for the controller. seems like they don't put any thought into mounting there products.

I did buy a innovative marine reactor and I think its great. no complaints on it. super well made and I love that you don't have to take any hoses or turn off any pumps to change the media. just pull the cartage and reload!

. I got my apex all hooked up and working today. I had to buy ther router today and it's not as easy to set up as I thought ( mostly because I'm not a comp wiz ) but I got it running and I'm super happy about it. Hopefully next week I'll fill it and start the cycle.

so I started mounting my apex. would be my luck as soon as I do it needs a firmware update. it actually really ****** me off, now I am going to need to buy a 100 foot long Ethernet cable but it is what it is. on a better note I did receive one of my last pieces of equipment to mount my radion on echotechs new RMS system. I thought this was going to be made out of plastic and be more money than its worth but its not! its metal! I am impressed and would recommend it on smaller tanks for sure. I also bout a new sony DSC-HX300 so no more crappy iPhone pics!!!!
