While on vacation, my husband ran across this rimless Deep Blue 12x12x12 tank. He is wanting to do something really cool with it but I'm not sure if we will have time to do what he wants with it. If not, then I will take it over and do something for the contest. We are going pallet hunting this weekend to get the wood for the stand. I'm hoping to get the stand built this weekend and to get the tank wet by the end of the month. we will see!

Coral total for this build is $342

We didn't get as far as I would have liked this weekend but we did get the frame for the stand done and we took apart some pallets to skin it with. I'm buying the rest of the stuff that I need to get the tank running, I'm hopeful that it will be going by the end of the month. I'm going to be using all live rock in this build to bypass the cycle. For fish, I might add a clown goby and a neon goby.

I sure hope it turns out the way we want it to, if it does, it's definitely going to be one of a kind!!! I dont want to let the cat out of the bag until it's done and we can show you all!

Here's a few corals that I'm wanting to put in the tank once they heal and we actually get water in the tank.
haha I feel like it's never going to get done.:whip:
I think its mainly going to be zoas, palys, and shrooms. I wanted to put some sps in here but i also want some clown gobies and I read that they will kill the sps......

That's gonna be one heck of a stand! Like the pedestal look. Following along on this one.

Corals waiting to go into their new home! I have a few more things in my main reef that I will be adding too. Any guesses to what we're making the tank into? The last picture pretty much gave it away.

Progress! she will be done this weekend!!

That's a big hole!

back side

I'm going to epoxy live rock all the way up the pvc so it looks like a rock pillar. It's going to be a closed loop type system because my husband did not want to see any powerheads or wires. The bottom opening will be the drain and the top is the return. Each opening is connected to a piece of 1/4 inch tubing which will be connected to the pump.
