Hi my name is justin. I'm not new but I'm definitely a novice looking to learn. I built this tank when I was tired of my 9 gallon nano. I felt like it was to small and couldn't keep the fish I wanted. It's a work in progress.

i have a few questions maybe y'all can help me out with. i do not like my current rock scape and was wondering if using the lr in the tank now would be ok. ill have it out of the water long enough to drill, pin, or glue it into something much cleaner and give myself some nice holes and shelves for my frags. my question is how long can it be out of the water before die off plays apart in putting in back in the tank with no ill effects? or should i scrap the rocks i have and use now bleached rock?……. also I'm not seeing the same coral growth other people are so i picked up a trace element test kit and have know idea what any of it means.

can any of this be holding this tank back? all the corals have good color and extension. the fish seem to be happy and no one in my cuc had died. not sure if i need more flow. I'm running the smallest korolla they make maybe 80 gph i don't remember exactly the size. I'm using the same light that came with my 14'' beep tank and the tank in question is 20'' beep. and one 10kw blue led. the white is a ehiem stock nano led.

New light, more flow and yes you can take the rock out Long enough to pin it. I am not sure on a timeframe but I wouldn't keep it out any longer than 30-45 minutes. Just keep extra saltwater handy to dip it and you should be fine

Ok thank you. How do my parameters look. I did a lot of reading on here today to try and find my own answers( probably the best way to learn). They seem to be acceptable

Ok my koralia was a 240 and I replaced it with a 750. Is this to much flow now? Its a 18 gallon. The 240 wasn't moving anything and the 750 looks like a narrow inlet at tide change

It's good. Can always upgrade the main pump to like a maxi jet 900 to 1200 for extra flow

Think your upgrade in flow should be fine. I had a 1150 in my 20 and it was WAYYY too much! 750 should be good. Like your aquascape btw!

Thanks. The only problem I have with the aquascape is it is very limiting in where I can place fraged plugs to grow out before gluing. I've been thing of redoing it a lot lately

Why not add another piece of live rock on the front part of the sand bed? Like an island, think you have plenty of space there for it.. Just a suggestion. Would provide more room for frags as well

That could work if I move all the rock against the back wall. I don't clean the back wall anyway. Leaves the cc something to snack on. Can I add more lr are does it need to be cured?

Preferably it should be cured. If you don't do cured then add the pieces little by little over a matter of weeks. I bought 3 pieces of rock that came from a LFS established tank and put one piece in every other week. The others I put in a bucket with an air pump to keep it live. I was also doing that because I had emerald crab babies lol but that's another story.

Forgot to mention. It might put it into a mini cycle. But it all depends on the size of the rock and amount of die off

I will try it out. My lfs has awesome lr. I could probably use the water I take out of the tank every week from the wc and cure it with that water. Plus I have the extra koralia 240 I can put into the bucket. Sweet this is going down this weekend

I haven't posted any thing here for a while so here is a few pics. I recently found a new lfs its called elite marine life in pampano beach Florida. Awesome store. They quarantine everything for two weeks before selling. I got some frags from them.
