Introduction

I've always wanted an ADA-style tank, whether it be planted or a nano-reef. A few months into owning the edge, I got fed up with the small opening of the Fluval Edge, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and de-rimmed it to look like a rimless tank.

After seeing the clean-look of the lily pipes, in combination with a very simplistic aquascape, on a few nano reefs, I found my inspiration. I knew I had to set up a small rimless ADA-style nano tank with minimal rock work and lots of corals to keep me company for the next four years of school.

P.S. I forgot to write: Hi everyone!

Woops. Just learned that I can't edit my first post: LOL that formatting got screwed for future use!

Anywhooo. I'm expecting a great order from Legendary Corals to come in, in a little over 2 weeks. Yay!

Furthermore, I'm gonna place an order from kp aquatics for some sponges and gorgs. :becky:

I'll update this thread when everything comes in!

I've been away from my tank for 3 months now because of an out-of-state internship. In my nostalgia, I've strung a short sequence of progress vids from the past 4 months together.

Enjoy:

It's been a while since I updated this thread and my tank has changed quite a bit:

Let's first start off with the FTS:

After getting NPS gorgs, my filtration was unable to keep up with the feedings. Thus I did what every logical reefer would do, I upgraded.

I nabbed a 11 gallon Mr Aqua tank and stand off of craigslist for quite cheap, and got to work.

First off, I was unhappy with the black background and overflow, so I scraped off all of the paint, frosted the background with vinyl window backing, and laser cut a new overflow.

Next came to baffling the sump:

Then everything had to be put together:

And finally after buying some new corals & transferring my livestock. Here we are today (With the FTS above).

I'm still in the progress of cleaning up my stand & making shelving:

Thanks guys!

Feel free to take all the ideas/designs you need. Especially since I drew inspiration from other build threads myself!
