Long time lurker here, finally got my ideal tank put together. We used to have a 250 mixed reef in our basement but that became too much of a chore for me since going back to school. SO i downsized to a small 12x12 acrylic cube that I put together(August of this year)... AND ended up acrylic, IMHO cleaning it was a pain in the butt. I prefer the razor blade and just "git r done" method. SO its now December and I told the wife I think i want a glass tank again. and the Fusion 20 was the perfect size. SO after waiting an ENTIRE week of staring at the boxes she let me open them over the past weekend. TOP NOTCH i'd have to say about everything EXCEPT the hinges for the stand, Pita to adjust and the screws are so cheap that came with the hinges two of the heads snapped without even being tight. Other than that though, everything else is going pretty spot on.

First off... Good build :) ! I currently have the fusion 40, nuvo 30, nuvo 16 and the nuvo 8.

I would suggest some good sand sifters. Tiger / Fighting conch, maybe a sea cucumber.

I was thinking about a cucumber, but the sand is new and not too dirty quite yet so I dont want it to starve right off the bat. Thanks! I was thinking about doing the 30.. BUT space didn't seem to be on my side

Really like the OceanRevive fixture, I just picked up some new coral yesterday and will post some pics tomorrow when I get around to it. So far the only problem i've had with everything is a Dumba$$ move of setting the RKE wrong and cranked my alk from 11 to 19 overnight, lost 3 acan frags :( and all my snails...... I'll keep you guys updated

and... i've got 2 Nuvo fusion 10's coming in from marinedepot this week. going to set them up on each side, the wife said my mr aqua tank in the dining room has to go. and that these would be better... Now all i have to do is find a black Davinci clown, which may be easier said than done.

Heres some updated pictures. Picked up a few acan packs from AquaSD during their sale earlier this month and just picked up the Brain,MontiCap, and Pink ******* chalice Saturday. Everythings looking good so far, A small diatom bloom on the sand every day because of the mini cycle after my kalk OD.

The IM desktop Ghost skimmer does a really great job and is quiet, No microbubbles is dialed in correctly. I've got the air valve about 1/2 to 3/4 closed and its pulling some thick foam out and NO microbubbles. Hope you all like the pics, (disclaimer) I turned the lights on about 3 minutes before taking these pics so some of the Zoa aren't opened up yet and the clowns have been having fun blowing sand all over digging a cave out under a rock :eek:hwell:

The Ghost fits like a glove and ive got it in the 2nd chamber so it gets the output of the biopellets from the miniMax reactor. My oceanrevive is set at 47% blues and 17% whites/fullspec.

How's the ghost skimmer doing? I'm thinking about getting one with a nuvo 20 and would love to hear your experience with it!

It's working GREAT. I am glad that the wife got the package with it in it because it fits well and does its job great, Mind you my bioload hasn't been out of this world, with just 2 onyx clowns and a recent addition of a paritally bleached RBTA. It can be a little loud if you have the air valve wide open but then you skim reallllllly wet, so for the first 2 months I had it about 3/4 closed and had good skimmate. BUT I like to tinker, SO what i did was took some air tubing drilled a couble of holes in the cap of an old medicine bottle and let it hang behind the tank. THEN I took a peice of plastic from the old fileter basket and wedged it so that it holds the skimmer off the bottom, then opened the air valve wide open. So effectively I've made the skimmer about 2-3" taller and with the air valve open it gets alot more foaming action going on. I went from medium dark green skimmate to folgers quality just by doing that.

Thank very much. Do you mind to do a small video? Skimmer is noisy? Thank you
What would you like a video of? the tank or the skimmer? Its not all that noisy in comparison to the fans on the light or the return pump a small fizzing noise but you can make a cheap silencer with a pill bottle.

Heres a few updated pics, I know they aren't the best quality as they are cell phone pics. I have to con the wife into letting me use her DSLR so I can get decent ones. The first is my Zoanthid rock I'm working on getting covered 2nd (right after we got him and he's still mad) and 3rd are the RBTA we bought from a frag swap, He's a bit bleached but is doing just fine and for 30$ why not try and save it. Then a quick pic of one of the acan frag groups and a FTS.
