Tank Updates with lots of photos

Figured it was time for a few updated pics of my tank. Also I have made many new changes to my tank so I will go ahead and relist my equipment.
  • 29 G Coralife Biocube
  • Coralife Biocube Stand (Never again big waste of money IMO)
  • Rapidled retro kit/w Custom led Comb. (4-nw, 4-uv, 4 Blue, 12 RB)
    • 6 channels total (I know complete overkill originally had lime and red orange leds but didn't like them so I removed them. But I do like the controllability of each color.)
    • Channel 1: 4 RB (Dims down at night for moonlights)
    • Channel 2: 2 R/O ( Not used on tank but added to my Santa Monica Hog .5 ATS)
    • Channel 3 : 4 B
    • Channel 4: 8 RB
    • Channel 5: 4 NW
    • Channel 6: 4UV

  • Storm Controller- I run it about 60% right now
  • Cobalt 100w heater
  • Rio 6HF- Return pump ( Increases flow from the 265 gph stock pump up to 400 gph at lower watts so less heat.
  • Intank Media Basket/w waterflow director
    • top shelf- piece of reticulated sponge
    • 2nd shelf- Purigen
    • 3rd shelf- Chemipure Elite
  • Tunze 9001 protein skimmer
  • Santa Monica Hog .5 ATS ( added 2 red-orange leds to add more light. All I was growing until I added them is a brown slime algae. Added the 2 leds and no more bsa.
  • Coralife digital thermometer
  • Azoo temp controller
  • Titanium ground probe
  • Tunze nano osmilator
  • 2 Hydor Koralia 425 circulation pump (only run 1 at a time)
  • 30 lbs live rock from drsmith&foster.
  • Fiji pink live sand
  • Livestock
    • Ocellaris Clownfish
    • Black and White Misbar Ocellaris Clownfish
    • Green Clown Goby
    • Midas Blenny
    • 6-line Wrasse
  • CUC
    • 5-Blue leg Hermit Crabs
    • 4-Red leg Hermit Crabs
    • 5-Margerita Snails
    • 5-Cerith Snails
    • 1-Fighting Conch Snail
  • Coral
    • Rainbow Montipora (Browned out right now but starting to make a come back)
    • Pink with blue polyp Montipora not sure what type specifically still a small frag
    • Toxic Hammer Coral
    • Metallic Green Star Polyps (Started gluing extra growth on back wall hope to cover it completely)
    • Blue Green Sympodium
    • Ultra Red/Blue Yuma
    • Purple and Green Acans
    • Mystic Sprite Favia
    • Green/Purple plate Fungia
    • Zoas
      • Radioactive Dragoneyes
      • Lunars (Not thriving in my tank for some reason)
      • Fire and Ice
      • Froggers
      • Rastas
      • A few others I do not know the names for I usually just buy what I like
  • Also wanted to add a note for my set-up in the bank chambers
    • Chamber 1- Nothing but may move heater and probes in there soon
    • Chamber 2- Intank media rack, tunze 9001 Skimmer, and yes a Santa Monica Hog .5 ATs tight fit but works.
    • Chamber 3- Heater, return pump, probes, ATO Switch. Also I would like to add that I actually run my return pump inside a 7in 200 micron filter sock. I do this for 2 reasons. The first is to help polish my water which stays consistently crystal clear. The second reason is it prevents any microbubbles coming from my skimmer from entering my display thus causing major anxiety issues for me. That drove me crazy for a while until I tried running the pump inside a filter sock. For anyone having problems with Microbubbles in their Biocube this will take care of it. Also ignore the min/max line on the side for water levels. I keep my water up to the first shelf on my intank media basket and use to run it higher than that.

How do you like the Tunze Osmolator? I just ordered it.

That is exactly the way I arranged my media basket, worked very well for me.

Beautiful Yuma.

Been very busy so not much to update. I did order a media reactor to run gac and gfo. As soon as I figure out how to add pics I will post some from my wife's new camera

Well, not much more to update on this tank now. It is by no means picture worthy at the moment. I am at that point where I am ready for a redo on this one. I have grown to hate my rock work and sand. No matter what I do I get cyano problems. The final straw was losing my midas blenny. I am now in the process of removing the sand and soon enough everything else. I plan on purchasing some dry rock from marco's and using black starboard on the bottom. I don't quite want the barebottom look but want something else. I decided to go with black starboard and aim for some really bright corals to place on the bottom to make them pop. I am also going to change my livestock as well. Not sure on what yet but going for some different ideas. I will update as I go with pics of course. The only thing I think I will keep in my tank as it is, is the gsp I have growing on the back wall. That stuff has really caught hold and growing well.

I'm thinking black starboard instead of sand.

Yeah I like starboard I am just no motivated enough to cut to fit the odd shape of a Bio-cube. I like white quite a bit too, for the reason that it reflects light back up into the coral.

Here is a few updated pics of my tank. Tore down the rockwork to move tank for carpet installation and for some reason have taken a liking to how it ended up.
