I've seen many tanks that seem to have very little rocks per gallon. I have about 80 pounds in a 90 gallon tank. Im also having a cyanobacteria outbreak which I think could be due to low flow because of to much rock. Can I take some out to allow more flow. I have a wp 40 and another power head in the tank. You can see a wave at the top. Im gonna clean the tank out then use chemi clean tommorow. Can I go with less live rock and achieve the same amount of filtration? Thanks

I just read an article about 1 for 1 being a myth. The tank would look better with less rock.

I'd not remove any rock, as this is your bilogical filter, and it helps maintain water quality. You might reposition your powerheads, or turn your powerheads up on the flow. How old is the tank? You can just wave the cyano off the rocks after repositioning the powerheads, to see if that helps.

Its 4 months old now. Has anyone used chemi clean is it as good as they say? Also should I manually remove as much as I can before I use it. My sand looks like red carpet.

Id remove what you can first. Chemiclean has been known to work.
