I bought mine from a vendor (ecoreefsand) off eBay. It's aragonite sand that's very white; looks nice and it's relatively cheap.

I found Arab live Hawaiian in black for a decent price and cheap shipping. I got 2-20lb bags if it sucks I can return the sealed bag.

Agri live special grade sand. you won't have any sand storms if you have any burrowing livestock.

aragonite was a good choice - I'm not sure of the size of the black grains but I'm thinking most I've seen on other tanks appears to be a medium grain which is good. I love the look of black sand, have never had it but have always thought the look was awesome!

Ok here's the tank. I did remove some rock cause the coral id put on it was too close to the lighting.

I used Fiji pink in my larger tank. I hate it. Makes a sand storm if I turn my power head on to high or if my pistol shrimp is remodeling. I used special grade in my pico tank and love it! Not to large to look ugly but not small enogmugh to get blown around.

Question do you siphon the sand during a water change? I read that you should leave it alone and just siphon the water.

I am also wondering about the siphon. I just ordered the fiji pink from brs. I siphon the heck out of my crushed coral.
