I'm new to saltwater fish tanks. I really enjoy this hobby and feedback would be much appreciated. Please tell me what you think and how it looks for a beginner.

welcome to the forum and the hobby! I think your tank looks really nice! your rockscape is great! I have to admit though that the poster on the wall behind it distracts from the tank

Hello and welcome! Looks like you're off to a good start. :) Lots of good info and people here. I have to agree tho. The big dude in the rear kinda throws off the tank a bit.

Welcome... your tanks filter looks like a freshwater setup, you may want to get a hang on back protein skimmer. A protein skimmer filters the water better then a freshwater filter.
I use a hang on protein skimmer filter, a heater and a carbon filter. i dont use a sump.
I have been adding fresh water to top evaporation by my hands and dosing calcium and alkalinity and magnesium manually. Anyone can run a saltwater tank for not to much money.

Yeah I am not digging the fathead either....now if it was a Browns player.......no, I still wouldn't like it. Tank looks good though.

Technically it can be used for a saltwater setup (to hold carbon, filter the water, etc.) but won't take the place of an efficient protein skimmer.
