What's up guys? I had a quick question about my filtration system. My 55 gallon has been set up now for about 6 or 7 months and my pet store (when buying everything for my tank) recommended getting 2, 75 gallon, Marineland Penguins. I thought, Okay, lets try these guys out. So I purchased the two filters he recommended. After having my tank for a little while, and realizing nobody is using these types of filters, I begin to do my research. NOBODY ELSE IS USING THESE HANG ON FILTERS!! My question is, should I upgrade my filter system, or should I keep the same plain old hang on filters. I was looking at a hang on protien skimmer with refugium combo for $65.00. Any personal experience or thoughts on this?

Those filter will be fine, plus with your live rock and sand there should be no problems. You have to have a skimmer for that size tank.
