My tank of 8 months now is becoming quite overwhelmed with ugly green coraline. Had to finally order a razor scraper so I can get it off. It's already been ID'd as coraline. It has always been my understanding that coraline is GOOD and it makes your tank colorful and pretty, but for some reason, mine is ugly and green. This may be a stupid question, but is there anything I can or need to do to get it to change to purple or red? Why does it have to be an ugly dark GREEN and all over my glass? I've seen it on my rocks too and SOMETHING in the tank scrapes it off and eats it, but not off the glass. Maybe my emerald? But anyway, I just want it to change colors. Why am I stuck with the ugly green? :noidea:

That's weird. I always see green to start but it turns into red or purple.

My tank has never grown a ton of coralline. I grow it on my rocks, and a little patch pops up here and there on my glass, but not much at all. I do get small spots of green every now and again. It is definitely coralline because it is crusty.

Yeah it's coraline. It grows in circles mostly. Just wish it was ... prettier. :-/

It's already been id'd as coraline from a few people. I just want it to turn to a more likeable color... somehow..

gemini, I don't know that there is a way to turn it purple but you may just give it some time and you probably will see some purple coralline coming in
