I am new to this forum, and a novice in this hobby. I have enlisted the help of some friends who own a retail store to help me construct and eventually maintain my tank. I have had my own experience (not favorable at all) in dealing with several tanks in the past with no success. I am in the infancy stages, and just have the tank and the start of where it will be placed in my basement.

Marineland 150g

The tank will be placed in the wall which will separate a main living area and my poker room. Basement is being framed Friday![emoji1]

I am super excited about this journey and hope to have a healthy, vibrant home for a bunch of new friends soon![emoji106]

Welcome to the forum Aces! Also welcome to the hobby again. If you don't mind provide a list of equipment you plan on running. What kind of tank are you wanting to build? Feel free to ask as many questions as you need. Also here is a great article Reefing Madness posted yesterday I believe How to set up a saltwater reef aquarium tank- REEFEDITION

Welcome aboard. A 150 is a great size tank. Maybe you can do build progression pics; that would be nice.

Thank you for the welcome, and I appreciate the article. I have went through this process pretty much step for step to get the tank picked out and the placement of where it will be in my basement. I have started a wish list of things I am hoping to have as my new inhabitants, and I am leaving the products and options of the hardware to my friends since I am not up to speed on the new products available. I will be posting updates as time goes by, so thanks again and all feedback is welcome!

I agree! I almost picked a 120, but I really like the extra height a 150 gives you as I was looking for max display area while still being able to fit in the desired location since its being built in the wall! I will be posting updates and progression pics for sure, all though it will be slow for a bit since they are just starting to frame my basement walls on Monday!:target:
