I just got done getting rid of a cyano outbreak, I dont want this cyano to return. I believe the cause is the LEDs I got, thats when it started. I have started keeping my lights on alot less than before and nothing has popped back up. I am not sure if I have a phosphate problem or not. I dont have a phosphate test, do I really need one? Is the Hanna test worth it? Is it accurate? Or would I be ok buying the API reefmaster test kit that comes with 3 or 4 other tests? And after I get that, should I get some sort of phosphate reactor? Are they necessary to run all the time?

You can't know if Phosphate was the cause of the outbreak without testing for Phosphate. I would get a test kit. I have the Hanna and like it but others who use API might chime in as well.

Need the test kit to test all parameters anyway...

Water flow is another issue,, is there enough flowing towards the sand bed area.

We use Salifert test kits and really like them..

We all have our faves....
