Every day I some brown powder like film on glass only. It comes off easy. Any idea on how to controll this? Thanks in advance!

How old is your tank? Sounds like Diatoms which is a common algae for a new tank.

My tank has been running for 1 year. Everything else is perfect. Knock on wood. Lol

My tank does the same thing and mines also about a year old..I'm pretty sure it's a phosphate issue..I put chemi-pure elite in my filter and I've noticed a difference in how long it takes that brown algae to form

My tank is 9 months and I get it too. Especially on the black painted back wall. As for it being PO4's or NO3, my tank has neither of significant value.

I've read where excess iodine is also a cause. High nitrates and silicates from tap water or well water. Make sure your using the best DI resin if using your own RO/DI unit.
Some additives can also cause brown algae.

What salt brand are you using? Do you notice it get's worse just after a water change or after topping off? Are you dosing anything?

I'm working on the process of elimination :)

Or get a mag float and clean of the film algae and call it a day.
