Are there any good, free, photo editing programs out there? Something better than photobucket....

Shoot RAW - then processed in Gimp

Thanks. How important is RAW? I didn't mention I had a Nikon l810...don't think it has a RAW setting
I tried to download Gimp a while ago then got scared cause I could not tell if it was legit or not. I read somewhere that there are a lot of fakes that are viruses and adware. I don't know enough to tell the difference.

Well gimp is safe when downloaded from the host sight. I don't personally use it. I only use Lightroom via Adobe. Shooting non raw meaning Jpeg you will be very limited on any post processing you will be able to do.
