    Question GoPro Hero....who has one?

Well the wife is looking for a new point and shoot pocket camera so I want to try and steer her toward one of these. I think she will like the video as well and I will like it around the aquarium .
So how about some feedback from the owners.

    TIA.......chuck

I have one and it works great! Easy to use and takes great pictures. The lens gives it an awesome fisheye view so it takes very interesting closeup tank shots

You can not beat them for the price. You might want to buy the screen if you are going to use it as a point and shoot. They use them on deadliest catch and a lot of other shows like that.

I have one and am finishing up on creating a video of a ski trip to Winter Park, CO from this past winter.

I have put mine to a few of the extremes so far. I have filmed surfing with it many times and filmed on mountains with it many times as well. I really enjoy it. The only thing I dislike is the fact that there is no screen. When you first get the camera you might get a little frustrated because you thought you were pointing to what you wanted to capture, but when you get home and look, you will find that you were not pointing towards your subject correctly.

use mine all the time. from going 95mph in my corolla, surfing, diving .etc..etc.... You should buy the HD HERO 2 tho has better low light capabilities and if you're gonna put it in the tank or dive with it buy their new dive housing or one from EYE OF MINE housings. i got the eye of mine and a HUGE difference in quality. There is also a LCD backpack attachment now too so you can see what you're recording.

I just bought one and it is so cost effective and worth it. I have the GO PRO Hero 2 MOTOSPORT PAC with LCD PAC, DIVE PACK etc.. for less than $500. It is perfect for the hobbiest coral and other livestock pictures. Videos are even better.

So will the LCD pack act as a view screen for composing or just an editing screen to review pics/videos that you've already shot? I need to get somewhere and play with one, they look tiny. I'm anxious to see the phone app too. Thanks for the comments so far.

LCD is to see what you are videoing and taking pictures of. It also lets you view all the settings on the camera. It is a must have for the GO PRO in my opinion.

I have been seriously considering getting one myself! What kind of media do they record too?

I have a Contour GPS. It's kind of the same. It does not make a good video camera for our tanks because it doesn't really focus on anything closer than 2 feet. I do have a waterproof case for it and have been diving with it. It shoots high quality video and has mounts to go everywhere!!

Here is a video taken with my contour it's not that interesting until the end.

This is what I had hoped. My eyes have gotten sort of old and small moving objects have become a challenge to view.

    thanks.....chuck

Rev, they record to HD SD cards, which you can get up to 32gb. A family member bought one to go to sturgis, so I'm a little anxious to see how it did at the bike rally
