As we all know it is very important to keep the water in our aquariums pristine and in optimal conditions for our tank inhabitants.

That being said.

How do you replenish trace elements in your tank? :D

Just curious, how do you measure how "trace elements" are being depleted in our tanks ;)

I do biweekly water changes to help ease my trace elements

By how crappy your corals are looking! LOL! :D

By trace elements I mean things like, calcium, alkalinity, magnesium, etc..

I voted before reading the posts. I don't consider Ca, Mg, and alkalinity to be trace. I dose B-Ionic for those. Trace means minute quanitities and, to me, that's things such as iodine, strontium, etc. Those I replenish through weekly 25% water changes.

I do 40 gallon water changes weekly, and I dose bio calcium and bio magnesium which have 70 trace elements between the two of them, now that I am doing zeo i have to replenish potassium also because it is skimmed out of the system.

Ca Rx on SPS tank (about to be covering several tanks:)), two part (Kent Marine) for Alk and Ca on other tanks, DT's Mg additive for magnesium on all. I don't add anything else. Water changes on average, probably every 4 weeks or so? Will soon add media to Ca Rx for Mg, and am combining several tanks for a single system (too lazy to dose and test so many tanks).

Wow! I'm enlightened. I didn't think people put so much stuff in their water. I'll be following this thread closely.

I only have a 20 gal. nano and I change 4-5 gallons once a week. I dose with reef plus and complete. I also just ordered a 13 polyped blue ricordea from Liveaquaria.com. I love the blues and I have been watching for a nice colony of blues and this one from the diversden is the best one I have seen in awhile. I will post a picture when I get it going good. I have not put a picture on of this 20 gallon on yet. I am waiting to get it looking awesome before I do. Also I am not very good at pictures, all I can get them to do is thumbnail.

You're fortunate. If I used tap water, I'd have to get an underwater lawnmower.
