In case you don't put it together, this is Ben Zimmerman and I'm totally just ribbing you, as I'm sure you know. :)

Looks great melev been following your blog it's nice to see you have the tank back. Quick question what do you do about a background so you can't see into the equipment room

I usually don't worry about it. This tank is viewed from three sides. However, I did recently cover up the front and the backside of the light rack with some black sign-backing material to darken the fishroom from showing up.

Speaking of the backside, here's a view of it.

Just saw this...and I have to say Wow!
It looks so...I think natural's the word? It doesn't have an artificial feel to it.

That's the goal. Make it look like what you'd see in nature - this is what I really try to accomplish. So thank you! :)

Great shots Marc. Question: are those flow accelerators on your returns in the top pic?

Looking good Marc!

What ever happened to that giant toadstool from your old tank? Did you lose it after the leak?

Yes, unfortunately it didn't make it. I should have driven it to the Dallas World Aquarium the very next day. So dumb; I didn't know what I was going to do with it, and was worried about putting it in the next tank where it would cause all kinds of issues after being manhandled again. It was in a 33g trashcan with a bunch of liverock and had three water changes per week, but it went south on me regardless. :(

What a wonderful healthy, natural looking tank

I am in the process of setting up a new 90g and was wondering what sand you are using, as yours looks very natural and not too fine.
I do not want a DSB just something for aesthetics.

Thanks

I used Tropic Eden Reeflakes sand. Premium Aquatics usually carries it. It's a larger grade and tends to stay in place. I use Vortech pumps that have serious ebb and flow.
