Hi everyone im very new to reef tanks and got a 10g tank which i already know is going to be really hard verse a 40g but here is the thing i want to do a sump refugium with a skimmer and obviously i know this going to take a little more space. so my question is would it be wise to use a 10g as the sump with having only a 10g display. what can be the pros and cons?

fyi idk what kind of skimmer i will be using.

The more water volume the easier it will be to keep your tank stable. Also, you can have your equipment hidden in the sump

Skimmers help. I have a 14 gallon and run it without a skimmer because I can do water changes every couple days. I'm setting up a 93 gallon and am definitely using a skimmer. If you can get one, I would for your tank
