Guys I have a question so I have a anemone and I just noticed right now that it doesn't seem to have his tentacles like is he's headless this is a pic of him when he looks normal

It's just his bottom half what happen to the tentacles please help me!!!!

Your anemone didn't loose it tentacles its just closed up. My first guess would be something is bothering it or your water parameters are off.

I agree with the others here, it seems like your Anemone is retracted, a common behavior during dark hours. Could you give us details about your tank?

actually, anemones can lose tentacles. it is usually kind of a gradual process though.

if it happened suddenly, then i would agree with finnaddict, einna, and lect that it is just retracted. every once in awhile nems will retract for no apparent reason. sometimes there is a reason behind it. i would give it a day and see how it looks before you worry :)

Yeah, my BTA freaks me out sometimes, since it turn into like a ball at night, then in the morning it's back to normal.

Mine does this every day. Its foot/base is inside a cave, its tentacles come out daily and stretch about 8 inches to get its light, when the lights go out, it swallows itself almost completely and is only the foot/base visible in the cave.
