How old is your tank? please only count the years your current DT has been up and running.

I am curious and thought it would be interesting for others as well. Ive heard of one reefer who has had the same tank of for ?30? years

I opted to make the post private so that you could participate in the poll anonymously. Mods feel free to change this is you so see fit or by popular request.

65 display with 26 sump 6 years in February. Inline with this an 18 gallon frag tank, and 8 gallon sump 4 1/2 years. And inline with all of these tanks a 29 gallon tank 3 1/2 years. This has become a skimmerless all acropora system.

Mine is almost a year old now. I have it pretty much stocked full and the goal of this next year is to keep it stable as can be so my frags can start to turn into colonies:)

My 150g has been up just over a year, although the first fish was introduced on black friday last year.

Can anyone help? Need to know how can i get rid of Diatoms in my reef tank aquarium? The tank has been running for 4 weeks. I understand is part of being new as it cycles but is there anything we can do to get rid of it faster?

DT has been going since April.
Inhabitants are two clowns, pajama cardinal, devil spawn called a blue damsel, conch, electric blue hermit, and turbo snail.
other then that there are 7 anemones and a few types of assorted corals.

There is a reef chemistry forum where you can get your question answered. Silicates cause diatoms, along with other things.
