giant worm id??

This moring I found a giant worm in my tank. It looked like a giant earth worm. I don't have pics. What could it be and are the bad?

Hard to say with no picture, could be a eucnid worm which are bad, or some type of fire/bristle worm which are semi-good. The latter will eat soft corals and the former will eat detritus and left overs.....If you can get a pic that would help telling what kind of worm it is...

Sounds like a Euncid worm, and yes, they become a nuisance when they get big. A photo would help with a positive ID.

That looks more like a peanut worm. Is it segmented at all?
