Jeeezzz!! Those clams are ridiculous!
I'm going to Germany this summer wonder if I could put them in my carry on........LOL! I hope that someone over here can import them.
I am still not convinced there is such a thing as a cross breed clam, they should send them all to me so I can study them!!!!!

That B&W maxima is rediculous!
The funny thing to me is when I look at that blog I see 4 very super ultra color Maxima's... I have a Maxima clam that although is a slightly different color the shell is identical to the clam in the second pic. It even has the orange tint to the shell...
Recent pic of the clam I have, it doesn't show the shell though. I'll dig around and see what I have for older pic's of it.

Here is the same clam top down in an older pic.

And some shell shots, when it came in the sides of the shell were orange but have since been covered in algae. In the bottom shot you can see the orange still in the left side of the shell.
Very same clam when it first came in, it was covered in Aptasia's... But you can see the orange in the shell.
I got 3 maxima clams out of the same batch. All 3 are differently colored than what we typically see here in the USA. I have since sold the blue one but I still have the other 2.
I totally agree that the clams posted today are the best looking Maxima clams I have ever seen, hands down! But I do not agree with them saying that they could possibly be hi-bred. If that was possible it would have happened long long ago in the natural reefs of the world. And to be perfectly clear, I wouldn't pass up a chance to purchase any of the clams posted, they are gorgeous!!!
Now I am totally curious if the 3 clams that I received might be from the very same clam farm. The orange shell is very mysterious to me, and I haven't seen it before. Makes me wonder what are they dosing the water with to get that color...
