Anybody know what this is? It's white and looks like a dead tree. It's always out and doesn't retract.

It's the white thing.

It's a type of sponge I believe.

Looks like a Foraminiferan.

If it's building sand into its structure, it could also be a Lanice worm.

It's not a worm. It's on a piece of rock that I got a favia on.

It looks very similar to that. The base looks a little different but otherwise the same. I think the Favia will grow over it anyway. Seems to be already.
