Our Latest, Greatest, and Most Powerful Fixture Yet!

That's right, the newest fixture is almost ready for release. It is made in the USA using the latest Cree LEDs, Including XP-G cool whites, XT-E royal blues, XP-E greens and reds, XML high noons, and bridgelux true violets, for a total of 48 LEDs! The price is already determined to be between $550 and $600 shipped, with apex and potentiometer dimming available. The fixture will measure around 12"x7.25"x1.5" tall, with a cooling fan in the middle and 2 banks of LEDs. Optics will also be avialable. It will be fully finished with an acrylic and aluminum casing. Here is a 3d model, the black on top is the fan, the yellow on the bottom is the LED banks.

Let us know what you think!

What should we call them? These fixtures will be way more powerful than any similarily sized units, and will have 4 different control channels,
    • The cool whites
    • The royal blues
    • The colored LEDs (red green uv)
    • The high noons
The fixtures will come with 80 degree optics, at a price of $599 shipped.

Dang.. should have waited a few more weeks so you could use the XP-G2 LEDs that I read about today.

XP-G2 is Cree’s update to the venerable XP-G LED

lol, keep the names coming, we were thinking megasun, but that was taken. How about the Reef Breeders "Ultra-Glo" LED Fixture? We will think up some more names.

I'm about 99% I would get sued for apollo or sol, We want something that is completely new, and really memorable. Lumous sounds pretty cool!

Whoops.... Ya Sol (AI) will get you in trouble for sure, and Apollo must have been used by someone. (Not sure who).

We will create a poll soon of a few options, how about the "Supernus" or the "Maximas", the Latin words seem very appealing.

I'm looking forward to seeing this. I was thinking supernova before I read it, but now that's taken, I'll have to go with quasar or lux astri.
