salinity-1.25/cal 420/ph 7.9/kh-14/mag 1000/nitrate 5
Magnesium plays an important role in maintaining calcium and alk levels so that explains why your alk is higher now with the same dosing regimen. I would cut back on your 2 part doing and let your alk fall gradually and continue to raise your mag. What is your calcium level at?

With magnesium that low you will never be able to get the parameters in check. Raise magnesium to above 1350 that will help bigtime.
My calcium is 420. odd thing is my mag. has always been around 800, it wasn't till i started to raise when everything went crazy.
What mag test kit are you using? Do you have a second test kit to verify against?
What Mg supplement are you using to bring the levels up
+1 to Rick and swanny borrow another test kit and let us know how your raising your mag.....

I am using red sea test kit. I have been dosing 1.5 ml per gal. of B-Ionic for weeks. I went from 850ish to 1000ish. Can't seem to get it any higher? Meanwhile KH shot up to 14 and ph stays low-7.9.What about Kalkwasser? would that be better?
