So i set up a 30g frag tank this past weekend. the tank has no sand or live rock in it. i have a 10g tank as a sump/refugium that i put some cheato, 2 pieces of live rock and aragonite sand in. i have been adding microbacter7 into tank daily since then to try and build up the bacterial population. water has been somewhat cloudy, but today it has white slime stuff starting to grow. i have read that it may be a bacterial bloom. assuming this is happening from adding the microbacter7 what should i do? i have been dosing recommended dose of the stuff. should i stop now? what are the next steps i should take? any help would be appreciated

Agree with Randy. I tried it in my 200 gal. Figured it sounded like a good plan to add beneficial bacteria to a new tank. Got cloudy as you stated. I Stopped dosing it, and ran UV to clear it up / kill off excess bacteria. Not all things are beneficial as stated on the bottle. Let the tank do its thing naturally. Probably the hardest part I find in this hobby, taking it slow, and let it do its thing.

Reefpeeper, Where abouts in CT? I work in Branford.
