I've been thinking of buying them all. Anybody have doubts? Are they accurate? Particularly I'd like to get the alk, phos, and calcium.

Alk is good, PO4 low range is good. Cal not so, as you need to use all the time 0.0 TDS

Alk and Po4 rock great tools. I skipped the Ca as the reviews I read said that it was inconsistent and as I understand it you need ultra pure water hannah sells it, ro/di is not pure enough

I have alk, phos(736), calcium.

The alk and phos: Rick solid! Just off the bat, buy more phos reagents.

Calcium is, in my experience, even after buying the Hanna water, a pita because of its kind of unreliability, even with the water. I don't count on it much and use red sea when I actually do test calcium (which isn't often). I also use for honestly everything else (magnesium, iron, nitrate, etc) red sea.

But the calcium is the only one, after 3 sets of reagents(2 sent by Hanna) , 2 gallons of Hanna water, and crazy time experimenting trying to get it to work, I would say just pass.

They have nitrite, silicate and a few others or now also you may want to check into..

Thanks everyone!

I will just get the phosphate and alkalinity.

The phosphate low range reads in ppb, how do I convert that to ppm?

Fwiw is it better just to get the po4 and send in my water samples to triton every month? Maybe that's more cost effective?

alkalinity is good, get the ppb phosphate same price.calcium is not worth it. Remember to buy extra tests they only supply you with like 4 in the phosphate kit.

Was a joke, we posted basically the same thing moments apart. Certainly not reading and posting to a forum while driving. Based on the posts I have read of yours I thought you would get sarcasm. My bad

It is in ppb phosphorus, not phosphate, so you need to multiply by 3.1 to get to ppb phosphate, then divide by 1000 to get to ppm phosphate. :)

Seems as though the alk. tester Is very close to other test kits but the ca. tester Is very eractic on Its reading compared with other test kits.

I used to have the 225$ phosphate version 5 years ago, you had to keep the vials very clean or it would give false readings. Should I buy a few extra glass vials?

The CA tester is accurate only if you use lab grade RODI, and a .5ml syringe for a tiny .1ml sample water size. You also need a tapered tip on the .5ml syringe to avoid missing the last drop. I'm pretty Ty proficient at using it now and I got consistent and sensible resumes.

it comes with 2 just don't let the solution sit in there after it gives you readings and then let them air dry
