About LinkBacksMine is looking amazing and is super healthy. After acclimating it and puttying the edges, I put it in indirect light about 30" under 250W halides. It looks so freaking bright there and almost immediately "puffed up" and has been happy ever since. Here's a crappy daylight pic that I promise does the colors no justice!

So that the chalice can start growing horizontally rather than waste time growing 90degrees down. I HIGHLY recommend it for any chalice or favia unless it's already sitting perfectly flat on the disc. I learned about this on a thread by a member on here, "m and m", and it has worked incredibly on my other chalices.

Okay, that makes sense I guess. How do I get my chalices to grow out and not encrust?

interesting pratcice. Since it does not grow down to encrust the plug does it leave a gap btwn the chalice and the plug as it grows out?
