I think there is a way to do it but I don't believe it's plug and play with Apex. If you just use as a wireless camera through iPhone or computer it takes about 3min to get running

Is the red dragon a skimmer pump? Any idea if it can replace a bubble blaster 5000??

They use the same motor and controller but it has a different drive head. This pump is actually a circulation pump. I'm sure you could convert it to skimmer, but it would likely be crazy expensive to do.
