Hello all,

We've had this Xenia for a few months and it has done really well. It's been growing like crazy and even sprung a few tiny babies on the rock.

Today we noticed this blemish though, it looks almost like an infected wound.

We know it is a resilient coral and can withstand pruning (this one is the result of such pruning by someone else). Should we cut off the damaged stalk?

What could have caused this?

Thanks to anyone who can help!
