Attempting to make an equipment closet but the supplied wires for the optical eye and backup float are too short. Any suggestions or is it possible to lengthen the wires???

If they can be lengthened what's the best way to do so?

Thanks in advance

Tunze customer service advised there is no way to extend wires. I had the same issue. I was able to rearrange my reservoir to make it work. I don't know if splicing wire leads will effect operability.

The optic sensor cable has 4 very fine wires in it, splicing them is possible but a complete PITA and you add one more potential failure point. The other complexity is that the controller relies on a certain mV output from the sensor to determine when to switch and any corrosion or flaws in splices or issues added by extra resistance will affect the stability and reliability of the unit. I would not extend the wires to the sensors. The only extension I would consider is to the pump and speaker wire would suffice for this purpose.
