    Color Question ??

I had posted this picture of a new zoa colony a few days ago. The picture was taken under 12k 150 mh. The 2nd picture is the same zoa's under just t-5 actinics . There is also a few different polyps on the bottom that I can not take a picture of. The third picture is same with auto color adjust used.
I like the actinic picture but dont want to run just that spectrum . Any Ideas on what I should replace my mh with to get a similar color but still good growth, Thanks all, Paul

most run their actinics along with their "white" lights, especially the whiter halides. while they halides give great brightness, they don't do much for color.

this is true for whatever. i've got vho's, and i run actinics. when i get my t5ho's, i'll run actinics.

i guess, i should have asked, do you run your actinics with your halides presently?

i let my actinics come on first to get everything started opening up then my daylights come on. and once i get my halides and t5's the will be one a similiar llighting scheadual. may have the fiji purple come on first then the actinic then the halides. honestly whatever looks great and makes my coral happy.

but, if you want faster growth, don't you want closer to 10k?

i don't know if that's what he wants or not, and i'm not an expert, that was just my impression

They will do fine under the MH you have. Feeding them is the key to growth. Run the actinics for 12hrs and the MH for 8 hrs and they will do just fine.
