Anyone know what this is? It's limited to this one colony. It's a jelly like coating on the stalk of the zoas. I have scraped some off and it is possible to remove it but I would surely kill some zoas in the process. They have been this way for around 6 months now so I don't think they are melting. Any help appreciated.

You could dip it in something like Coral Rx. I'm not sure what it is.

Ive dipped it about 4 times in coral rx, twice in freshwater, and even once in H2O2,all spread out over the 6 months Ive owned the colony of course. It hasn't responded to any of those. Hopefully somone will have an ID

Looks like a bacterial of fungal issue. A dip in furan2 or chemiclean can help with this. When in the dip use a turkey baster or something similar to "blow" them off. If you use either if these 2 dips make sure to rinse them really well before returning to the tank. You could also try a peroxide dip as well. Best of luck.

It could be eggs from a nudibranch or a snail. Sundial snailes leave a jelly glob of eggs on zoas. If it's easy to remove from the zoanthid without injurying the zoanthid itself I would remove it. Otherwise if it's part of the zoa i'd keep dipping.
