I have ~380gal of water in my SPS system.

DKH is 14 at the moment, so I wasn't that worried about not being buffered.

I orderd a few bottles of the VC you linked. I will switch to that type when it arives.

The 20 pills looked like pretty gross slime disolved in the beaker. I know the VC itself cleanly disolves and becomes invisible, but the other things in the pills seemed to cause the solution to be milky/clumpy. The ingrediants list corn starch and sugar and a variety of other binders.

Though my tank looks no different yet (and of course these things must be given time), I personally took 2g of VC, and I really feel great today! :) I hope to see the same in my corals soon.

Best Wishes,
-Luke

As I mentioned before, I run skimmer-less.

I average 0.04NO3 by lamotte test, and 0.04PO4 by my Hanna meter. Perhaps not ULN, but certianly LN.

Chaetomorphia algae is my only nutrient export. The tank is heavily stocked and heavily fed.

I'm not too worried about the sugar and cornstarch binders causing a problem.

I will keep you posted with results!

It's only been 3 days now on VC, and I've seen my first improvement. A deep water acro frag that I received in poor health finally showed polyps today for the first time in 2 months. I had never seen a sign of life from it before, and assumed it would just finish STN'ing soon.

Everything looks very healthy with great polyp extension, possibly the best I've ever seen polyp extension in my tank.

:) I'm happy! I know it's too soon to judge, but I like what I'm seeing after only a few days :)

I am really wanting to try this VC......I have been doing the Vodka dosing as well as increased AA dosing and have noticed a great deal of change in my tank.

Hopefully will be able to try some of the VC for that added Uhmph to the tank!

Well I started with .2ml in my 30g
changed my skimmer to skim wet (Octopus NW-150)
and slowly doubled every third day till I got to about 1.2ml which is where I saw the slight bloom.

From there I left it at 1.ml and just watched my parameters.....Now I am back down to .6ml and I dose it right when the lights come on.

I am using Absolut but I doubt the fish will complain once they are hooked :D

After you get the VC ordered, start with 1/4 tsp for 3 days, raise it to 1/2 tsp for 3 days & then 1tsp. Leave it at that for a month & see if it helps. If not, go up every 3 days by 1/4 tsps until you get to 1 1/2 tsps. Dose 2x/day, into your sump. You can raise it again to 2tsps if necessary, for severe problems. I'm mainatining at 1 1/2 tsps now, in ~100g total volume system.

Dosing with VC is not the same thing as vodka. We are thinking that the VC actually hellps with collagen production in corals.
