    New zoa morph

I've had this colony for a while but I just noticed a bright red zoa in the lower center. I can't get over the fact that I never noticed it, it's one of the brightest red zoas that I have and the blue in the center just pops! My camera does it no justice. Also, on a side note if it's named please let me know.

It's probably just a small zoa that was closed for a while (like the kaleidoscope morph of Whammin' Watermelons). It's likely to return to normal color once it grows out. However, let us know if it keeps that color. Very nice if it does.

Better would be to pop it off the rock and onto a frag of its own to give it space to grow and see if the babies retain the same coloration!

I'm hoping they stay the same!

I'll get right on it! I did that with one of my other zoas that was with my Orange Bam Bam colony. Cut it off, and now it has 6 polyps with the same coloration.

I'm hoping it does what this guy did.
When I cut it off my colony, it looked like this.

Now it has 6 polyps and looks like this.

Update: I popped it off the colony and onto a frag. I also moved it lower in the tank (the color and the pattern of the red changed), knock on wood it looks pretty good. I'm going to try it under LEDs sometime in the near future.

I've done the same thing with a small colony. Placed them a lil under a rock and the enter changed into a darker color. It's pretty sweet how they do that.

I just checked down stairs and I lost the polyp, along with the frag plug. My tang must've thrown it somewhere. I'm hoping that it turns up. If anyone wants a gorgeous Atlantic Blue Tang let me know!
